monday, monday, let's do this thing

i'm not feeling quite ready for the week. the weekend haze is strong with me... uninterrupted snuggle time with the husband, hours to spend luxuriously lounging on the couch and reading, time to spend on yummy dinners with a glass of wine. these are the things my dreams are made of.

here is my antidote... retain the feel of the weekend :) simple, but effective.
start with a lovely meal, read a few pages of a book, snuggle extra close with the husband for the short time you have.

this picture is from a few weeks ago, but it definitely applies.

book: the hobbit (finished a while ago :)
meal: delicious full fat grass fed yoghurt with pomegranate seeds and sliced almonds (you know there was a great, big dollop of honey in there :)

so, my friends, that is the remedy! take the time to make the midweek special! what do you do to hold on to the freedom of the weekend all week long?

you may have guessed i love my husband

i made this little print to hang in our bedroom. it just seems appropriate to have nighttime artwork hanging over your head as you sleep :)

you may think it is just a random selection of song lyrics, but no, oh non mon frere. it is directed at my captivating husband. i just think that he hung the moon.

i never thought i could be loved so fully by a person. i thought only God would see me as beautiful and lovely, but my husband does.

if you have a good man, hold on tight. and if you are looking for a man, hold out for the best. the one who loves you so fully that it brings tears to your eyes. the one who works hard to support you and still has time to scratch your back at night. the one who you miss so acutely that it literally hurts your heart, no matter how long he is gone.

yea, i found that and i thank God every day for bringing him to me :)

have a mary poppins moment

there are times in my life that i feel as though i've got my stuff together. i wake up too  early, i have actual free time, the to do list is clean, and i am generally well groomed.

today was that day for me and it felt great. i felt like a modern day mary poppins, practically perfect in every way. i'm glad i avoided the mirror because my frizzy half-done braid would have ruined my record.

here's to mary, who never has an off day and never ever has frizzy hair.

seasonal sentiments

seasons make me so happy. there is little better feeling than sensing the turn of the weather when you are just about exhausted of being hot/cold/inconsistently either.

unfortunately, florida lacks a good seasonal rotation, but we get a touch of each for just a day or two.

it is half-way through january already and i've been cold maybe twice :(

i love visiting family up north because i get to enjoy the snow for just long enough and then come home to perpetual spring and summer.

i am missing winter right about now and instead of going to the beach i'll share some photos of my past northerly excursions...

there are many more where those came from...to be continued on another unseasonably warm day.
